Proclamations will be granted in a very limited capacity as a way of proclaiming a singular, countywide event or anniversary. Proclamation requests may be submitted directly to the Mayor's Office for consideration but must be received 21 days prior to the requested proclamation date and may be rejected if they are not received soon enough. Proclamations are strictly ceremonial; they are not legally binding and should not be interpreted as a policy endorsement.
Ceremonial proclamations meeting the criteria listed below will be approved by the Mayor after the request has been received and may take up to 14 days to be approved or denied.
