Open enrollment Nov 4th-22nd is your annual opportunity to review your current benefits selections.

Changes take effect Jan 1. As a reminder, previously waived benefits may not be added, however changes between carriers or to covered dependents is allowed.

Medicare & PEHP Medicare Supplement

If your most recent hire date is prior to December 31, 2012, you may be eligible for a county subsidy for the PEHP Medicare Supplement plan when you turn age 65.

The Benefits Team is unable to give you advice about Medicare eligibility or coverage, but here are several resources.

Not sure about Medicare? Contact 800-633-4227. You may be automatically enrolled in Medicare if you are receiving disability benefits through Social Security OR are receiving Social Security benefits. If you're not sure, we advise you to contact Medicare at the number above or contact County Aging and Adult Services.

Utah Retirement Systems (URS) Online Enrollment

Step 1: Contact URS

  • Contact URS 1-3 months before retirement date and request a packet.
  • URS is available to discuss your options at 801-366-7700.
  • URS Also Offers Individual Retirement Planning Sessions are also available through video conferencing or over the phone.

Step 2: Choose Your Retirement Date

  • Work with your Division and the HR Benefits Team regarding your retirement date and review HR Policy 4-900: Retirement.
  • Contact HR Benefits at 385-468-0580 to schedule a retirement meeting to discuss your benefits and next steps in the process.
