Refugee Program for Older Adults
This program serves older adult refugees 60 years and older who live in Salt Lake County. The program connects older refugees to community resources, services, and social engagement.
Older refugees who have been in the United States between 1 - 5 years work with a Refugee Navigator on challenges such as:
- Application assistance with maintaining SNAP benefits, SSI, Medicaid, and other services.
- Assistance with resources for ESL and citizenship education support.
- Assistance with nutrition, meal delivery, medical transportation, and other community service options.
The program also provides service and socialization referrals for older adult refugees who have been in the United States for over 5 years.
